Equip your classroom with new technology

Equip your classroom with new technology

Attendees of the 2017 SJCOE Tech Summit will be able to attend a "Make and Take" session where they will learn how to use a piece of new technology, then leave with it so they can use it in their own classrooms.

It's a chance to sample the wide array of new technology aimed at getting kids engaged in STEM learning and helping teachers to bring new experiences to their students. See how to take a student on a virtual field trip using Google Cardboard or learn how an Ozobot can help teach students as young as kindergartners.

Attendees will get to choose one of the following “take-away” sessions:

Dean Reese

Presenter Highlight: Dean Reese

The Science Department Chair at Tracy High, Dean Reese, will talk about how to help students break gender barrier in STEM education in his session: Engaging Girls in the Maker Movement. What resources are available to make progress? What do students have to say about overcoming challenges in a predominantly male classroom and rising to the top of the class?

While learning about the issues, attendees at Reese's session will get a LilyPad sewable electronics kit.

Teachers, instructional coaches, and other educators will join Dean in presenting over 30 sessions at the 2017 SJCOE Tech Summit. Register today to reserve your spot in this great session!
